IE problem which seems to be caused by Avast?!!

Hi.
I’m new to avast and so far it has been great, finiding many trojans which Symantecs’ NIS didn’t see. But suddenly for some reason, each time I open Internet Explorer, it now takes a SUPER long time to open a page until I finally have to open Task Manager to see what’s wrong. And when I do there’s a component of avast listed in Processes called ‘ashWebSv.exe’ which is using a large amount of resources, up to 15 to 19 K. And only when I have Task Manager end this process am I finally able to get any web pages to load. Does anyone know why this could be occurig this way, if maybe Avast is somehow conflicting with Norton, and how I could resolve it? I thought maybe I had a bad Avast installation or that it somehow became corrupted or damaged so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem is still occuring. Anybody have any useful information.

This could be fixed in 4.6.612.

Please update. It could fix your conflict. Let us know…

Welcome to avast 8)

How do you update to 612? I just tried to update and it said that 603 was most recent. Is this available somewhere else?

In the link Technical gave you is a link that Vlk gives…"aswbeta.exe "

Download that, double click while on the net and it will update

Don’t do this unless your willing to run beta untill the release comes out

No problem. I ran every 4.6 beta I could get my hands on.

;D
It worked ! It worked! I did the update and the problem has ceased. Thanks for the help Technical, I greatly appreciate it.

You’re welcome!
Try to come back and help the others in the forum

A question about beta versions, when i registered avast home i haven’t checked the thing “i would like to try beta versions…”, there’s a way to change that?

What happen if i check that thing?

I never saw this possibility…
There is not such option in the profile settings of the forum because registration is for the program use and not the forum.

Well, I’ve clicked and nothing happened since then :-\

You may install the beta version depending on your current state of the mind - just download the aswbeta.exe installer a try the beta, or don’t download it if you don’t want to try the beta releases.
