IE stopped working after Avast 8 Updated.

My sister has updated her Avast to Avast 8 and after the update she can no longer access her Internet Explorer. When she tries to open it it takes her directly to Internet Properties. Avast Installed Google Chrome with it because she didn’t notice it to stop it in time therefore she uninstalled Google Chrome.
Her OS is Windows XP SP3 fully updated.
she does have connection because she can send and recieve email.

Maybe Avast WebRep addon was installed in I guess IE8.
Try running IE without addons and see if that is the problem.
I think WebRep shouldn’t cause that problem but who knows.
