This is on clean up to date system…moved from v4.8 to v 5.0 yesterday…
Right click context menu is so delayed it is impossible to use …turning of protection solves the problem.
I use right click context to open topics in new tabs.
Auto select context menus are also frozen…e.g. Napaonline to select a car, or on teacherweb to select a school.
scans reveal no issues…I will have to revert to 4.8.

I would recommend that you uninstall 5.0 run Aswclear to remove all traces and then re-install 5.0 . That should clear any problems
may be you should uninstall completely and redo a clean install with V5. Your upgrade from V4 to V5 might have messed up somehow…
OK that worked…
Uninstalled v5…reboot
ran aswclear … asked for v4.x product and directory (only had a v5 one at this point but used it)…reboot
reinstall v5…
context menu issue is resolved.
only difference I noticed is that now v5 is not registered anymore (it had automatically used the v4 key before).

just fill in the registration form in the UI, if you’re on the free version, you’ll get an automatic license that way (it’s instant). Forget your Avast4/home key, you don’t need it anymore.
