Nice pointer to CryptoPrevent. I was quite aware of the problem, but was not aware of the tool to help guard against it.
Anyhoo … we shall run the system for another 24 hrs, before tucking into all of the updates and fortification.
I will eventually come back and submit a final post, to confirm that everything is (still) all clear etc.
In the meantime, I do have one question …
My understanding is that this forum does not provide support for commercial environments (ie. networks, etc.) - is that correct? Is there a group, similar to yours, which does provide that type of service (presumably, for a fee)? The reason I ask, is, my experience with commercial support outside of product-specific issues (bug fixes, compatibility issues, etc.) has not been good. But my experience here has been great. And I can see, from reading some of the other threads, that my experience is not unusual - you guys consistently do a GREAT job.
If I, or one of my colleagues, ever runs into a commercial situation which requires your type of expertise, would we be able to avail ourselves of the help? Is there a donation mechanism to help offset costs? Just thinking to the future. So far, I have been fortunate not to run into anything like this at work … but that doesn’t mean the day would never come [shrug].
