Few times when I’ve started new topic on this forum and have spent a good time writing original posts, and then try to press “Post”, the forum seems to redirect me to the forum area I was trying to wrote the topic to, but without the topic I tried to post and I have to start all over again. I recall this happening at least when I’ve previewd my topic original post for a certain peroid of time. This issue is quite irritating because I have to write same posts all over again. Not sure if it’s just me or a general bug, but it sure bugs me…
It is a known problem.
avast has changed the webboard software and this is one of the problems that exists since they did.
In some browsers (e.g. Opera), you can click the back button and the text of the post is still there.
When you click post again, it will be posted.

It is a bug in the forum software that it on occasion eats posts.
You can do a quick CTRL+A (select All) CTRL+C (Copy) before posting just in case or you can do as I do and use the firefox add-on Form History control.

That is hardly going to help this user right now.
It is not a bug in SMF.
The bug is caused by avast because they changed things in the original SMF files.
But as it seems avast is refusing to solve it. >:(
It is also the most annoying bug on this forum that has never been addressed. >:(
