Uninstall the paid version then re-install the free version.
Download and save the avast uninstall utility.
Download and save avast free.
Run uninstall utility for each version of avast you have now. You will be prompted to reboot into safe mode…click “yes”.
Reboot.
Install avast free from above.
Reboot and register.
