Avast has detected HTML:Iframe-inf virus. But it is not deleting, moving to chest or repairing.
The location shown is
c:\Documents and Settings\nitin.Praneet\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Recovery\Active{a-big-digit}.dat|>TLO.
Please help.
Hi nitpradnya,
Yes I think you need malware removal from one of our removers, I have informed essexboy to have a look. And it is my personal opinion that he eventually will come up with a registry fix for you.
Just wait until he arrives and follow his instructions exactly,
polonus
It probably can’t take action because:
- Not being a virus (small element of file infected) it can’t be repaired.
- May be too large to be moved to the chest.
- May be in use so can’t be deleted.
I have nothing in my C:\Documents and Settings\David\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Recovery\Active, so I don’t know if you have recently had an IE crash ?
For this one I would recommend a Dr Web run initially as it has a good cleaning routine for it
Download Dr Web from here Fill in the small form and download
It will download as an 8 digit file save it to your desktop
Restart in safe mode and run
Accept the enhanced version
Then run the quick scan
About halfway through you will be prompted to buy - just X the box closed
Once finished it will generate a log please attach that
