IIS Configuration Error

I am trying to install Avast, and I keep getting this error “There was an error during the IIS configuration process, Your original IIS configuration will be restored” And then it stops the installation and rolls back all changes. Any advice on how to get past this?

What is your OS?
Could you run the sbc installer with “/LV* pathToLog.txt” tp get more detials from the installation process?

I have the identical problem trying to do a trial install. >:(

I ran the following at the command prompt:

setup_console_bp.exe /LV* avast_install_log.txt

Is this correct as there was no logfile generated? This is on Windows Server 2003 R2.

I’ve had the same problem with this as well, tried with base and SP1 releases and multiple standard and expert configurations. Even put in a ticket way back on August 8th and two replies on it, neither of which worked. The last response was to install as network service, which I tried and it failed, back on the 10th.

I replied to the ticket on the 16th with a 1MB log file with the /LV* and never heard from anyone else again.

I had the 90 day trial as I wanted to switch from McAfee Antivirus to something a bit more stable and efficient and starting to doubt it.

The kink in this one is it is a Windows 2003 Small Business Server with Active Directory enabled, IIS of course has the sharepoint site, etc… already on it due to SBS, and there are other instances of SQL Server due to SBS.

SQL gets created, IIS starts to get created (I see App Pool created and Virtual Directory get created, but not as an application), then it rolls back.

I hope someone figures this out soon, or I will have to refund this 90 day trial and move on.

If the log isn’t created then try to download the latest SBC 1.0 SP1 build. It will generete the logs
