Illegal license key of avast! Pro 4.6.691 was released!

It’s so sad to see that it was relesed really quick. I think I really don’t understand why some stupid people try to steal avast! Pro while they have the right to use the best free antivirus package avast! Home for free. Do they think that Pro can detect viruses better than home edition? Do they really take advantage from Pro edition or just simply feel good to know that they use Pro over inferior Home editon? ::slight_smile:

It’s really not fair, Alwil works so hard to develop avast! and even so kindly to give us the best free antivirus such as avast! Home for free, simply compared to AVG Free or AntiVir Classic and you’ll know what’s the differences and what I mean. So why some stupid people don’t understand this. :-[

I think Alwil should change the way to handle avast! Pro license policy (e.g. NOD32’s username/password) or develop some kind of feature that can check and block an illegal license key so frequently than do on the major program updates.

That’s just my opinion, I’m very appreciated and thanks for avast! Home - best free antivirus.

If I am not mistaken, Alwil already blocks illegal keys when people trying to update.
Anyway there is more information about this in another thread on this board.

NOD32 also has problems with passwords. Serial is unique identifier even if it’s not used as in NOD32 (username and password vs just serial in avast!).

That’s how it works… Illegal license keys, as soon as they’re detected, can’t update on-line, only with the vpsupd.exe file.
I’ve tried to suggest other ways but they say me there is not a secure way to assure that illegal licenses were blocked in off-line computers.
Activation is not the solution (as can prove Microsoft and Symantec).

If I’m not mistaken, an illegal license key will be blocked when the program updates (e.g. 4.6.665 > 4.6.691) released but as you know it takes for a quite long time, so during that time an illegal license key can be used to updating VPS via auto iAVS update as a legal key.

So it would be a lot better if an illegal license key will be blocked as soon as possible by doing something such as updating a small part of program to avast! for checking license key from time to time (e.g. every week).

When the small, fast, true incremental update is one of the best thing of avast! so if people illegally use avast! Pro but can’t perform the auto incremental update via the internet so they may change their mind and do the right thing instead.

The true but sad story is that, I’ve introduced avast! Home to the people I know but I’ve found that most of them always change to avast! Pro and try to use illegal license key.

As I said before, those people don’t really take advantage from avast! Pro, they don’t even know how to use enhanced interface, don’t know how to use PUSH update, they simply think that Pro can detect viruses better than home edition. ???

It’s sad to see…

I think this is how it works… on a VPS update and not on only at a program one…
Anyway, I’ve never tested a keygen ;D :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, now it’s my time to talk about illegal avast keys. Guys, I’ve done small experiment with keygen as I am (maybe was, as rolled back to Home) on Pro trial. After not long search I’ve found keygen. First two keys were bad, but the last generated key - 4-years license key. I’ve updated my program now - the key wasn’t blocked :-\ And it’s not good. But know about good things. I like “Change” feature, as I’ve easily rolled back my program to Home Edition with just removing tick by the “professional Edition”. But I have noticed two small “bugs” on rolling back to Home: at first, illegal 4year key still was there, even in Home Ed. And Last scan date is showing “not performed yet”. That’s it. I know, what all I’ve done was illegal, but by my faith, I’m using legal Home, even I had chance to use illegal pro. ;D

In my opinion as soon as illegal key is detected the program should be TERMINATED at all!

Just wondering, if avast scan settings now is on default, as I have made some changes with Ench UI… :-\

Bad, bad…

I think this is by default as you’ve ‘changed’ avast and the ‘new one’ has not fully scanned your system.

Downgrading brings trouble from time to time. Better would be uninstalling and installing Home version again.

Can’t you send the link for the illegal keygen to Alwil?

Won’t Alwil answer this thread?

I’ll reinstall my avast! About keygen: if I’ll find it again I’ll send link, but I’ve cleared all my tracks so I don’t know if I’ll be able to find it again. ;D but I’ll try. Where I have to send link? (If I’ll find it…)

Maybe Alwil should answer this…

Damn! The best thing I can do is to send the whole keygen! >:( All virus blocking in each site is killing me. Besides, I think this keygen is really old as it’s rated for v. 4.0.220 :-\ Sorry, guys I can’t find this one…it seems to be hundreds on keys and keygens for avast all over the NET. :-\ Eh, going to install XP critical updates and reinstall my avast home.

Seems you’re using old keygen by TSRh… The newer keygens are made by ACME and won’t have the problems you stated above… And keys created by keygens will only get blocked by program updates and not by iAVS updates…

Therefore I like to say I’m not an illegal user since I got a legal 3year license for avast! that doesn’t mean I like to experiment…

As for protection for piracy, the method used by Panda and Kaspersky (Norman too) seems to work best for now… Maybe the Awill guys will change their registration method…

It’s a pity… Can you inform Alwil the link for downloading this keygen?

Which one?

Again, when the subject is piracy, no words from the team ::slight_smile:

If they give me a e-mail adress where to mail them

Well all three of them have good piracy protection.
Panda → Using username/password
Norman → Using just a serial but they’re very fast blacklisting, keys and keygens never work longer then a couple hours after release
Kaspersky → Using license files, wich gets validated every update

Many keygens may be found at Link Removed.

I do NOT use a keygenerated licence key for the pro ed. I use the home ed.

Better remove this link, we’re no warez board… Thanks

As I like avast!, all people here, so I’m not going to be a thief. Yes, I have opportunity to use avast! Pro with illegal key, as it worked for me, and yes - avast Pro lic is too expensive for me (I’m high school student at the moment) but it’s the reason I’m using Home Edition. ALWIL guys are great, especially that they have made Home available for all. So people, there is no need to be a pigs! just use Home as I and many others do. The experiment I made just shows, that the problem exists and will be existing because there are a kind of people which will never understand the things mentioned before… And it’s sad… :-\

And I think it’s time to end this discussion soon, as this topic would be endless.

About Norman I don’t know, but for Panda & Kaspersky it’s pretty easy to find a crack that works without problems. (That said, let me tell you I’m using avast! free on one PC & BitDefender8 on the other- got a legal free promo 1 year key for that)

Well I don’t think you can find valid illegal keys or crack for both Kaspersky or Panda wich will work longer then a day…
(anyway, does Softwin still give away free 1 year promo licenses? me interested :p)

I must be insane to get a valid license of Panda… Can you imagine an illegal one? :o
No way, thanks… ;D
As we all see in this kind of thread, where are the Alwil guys? ??? ::slight_smile:
