I'm infected with Win32:Expiro-CL. Help please. :(

Hi. So Avast is prompting me like every minute, my computer’s infected with Win32:Expiro-CL. I don’t know what I could have done wrong with my computer for it to be infected. :frowning: I’ve read that it is a very serious malware so would somebody help me please? :frowning: Thanks guys! Any help would be very much appreciated! :slight_smile:

I’m on Windows 8.1 64-bit.

attach (not copy and paste) Malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR logs

have you used any USB stick / memory cards from other machines?

this seems to be a file infector. File infectors are like computer cancer so be aware that this may end with a format/reinstall

Yes I have used an external drive this afternoon, though I’ve already used it several times before.

Disconnect the external drive and provide your logs.

Currently scanning with MalwareBytes. :expressionless: wait what about aswMBR? It was noted that it’s not compatible with Win8? :expressionless:

Only thing you can do is to download some Rescue Disk and to scan your PC. This cannot be removed from active Windows, you will just waste the time.

Just skip it.

I restarted after MalwareBytes finished scanning. Computer’s taking too long to restart. Not normal. :frowning: I’ll provide the logs asap. :expressionless:
