ps: on a side note, this was reported, not only to Avast admins, but also to the author of the article above. The guy (Polonus) doesn’t quote, doesn’t link, but just posts again and again stolen stuff, claiming the authorship of it. Sounds like he’s been doing that for years here. How come he hasn’t been stopped?
Polonus I’m warning you: if Avast doesn’t take action, I will keep hunting down your posts, I will find the original authors of the articles that you steal, and I will report you to them as many times as needed >>> is that clear? what you’re doing here is illegal, okay, not to mention that it’s a real shame.
Have you tried private messaging Polonus in private about this so as to avoid it getting messy on the forums?
The information Polonus posts may not be his but i have found some of it very helpful. I do agree plagiarism is not the way to go. So perhaps a non confrontational message would achieve the desired purpose. (At least this way we can still receive these updates etc.

To do such things you must have a very special way of thinking to believe that it’s legit, and even go claim on other web sites (like Informaction) that you’re the author, brag about it, be proud of it. I’m not discussing anything with that.
And again, the only guy who’s helping on the forums when it comes to serious system infections is Essexboy, while many others help with less serious issues or purely Avast software related issue. Polonus is not doing any of these things, so give me a break with that myth you want to believe in boys, thanks

You can lock this thread now if you want. What’s happening here ( web content theft on Avast forums ) doesn’t matter as long as you can sleep in your labs I suppose, and the product sells well.
…as to the main object of this thread, I’ll leave things “as is”, expecting action. It’s not my job after all to take care of integrity policies here on the forum. I’m just extremely shocked that you could allow this to happen, and for such a long time. And I obviously wouldn’t have started the thread at all here if my previous reports about stolen articles had been taken into account, if at least my mails had been replied to…if some cleaning had been done to remove the posts and the threads containing stolen content, and there are hundreds.
