Im sure it is nothing but.......

I need some clarification here.

Now i haven’t booted up windows, in a while , mostly use Linux.
I booted up today and well i had to update all my software.
When i was going to update mbam it started the installation for the latest version. During the install, pc tools Firewall plus said,

AN UNKNOWN APPLICATION IS USING MALWARE BYTE'S ANTI MALWARE TO ACCESS THE INTERNET ALLOW/DENY
I allowed , but out of curiosity I open up the pctools firewall to see what it was, it was a file called mbam-setup.tmp, It said the file no longer exists in that location, i do not have the full path but i have some of it, C:\Users\Home\AppData\Local\Temp\??????\mbam-setup.tmp Is the file related to malware bytes.

Yes, I think so. It’s the update temp file. But I’m not sure, the only way will be submitting the file to virus total I think.

It is the mbam program update file, it is normally only seen during program updates and not signature updates. This mbam-setup.tmp obviously changes from one program update to the next so the firewall is right in asking permission again.

It is probably cleaned up after the update, but then again if you use any thong like ccleaner to clear temp folders on shutdown, etc. that too could account for it.
