imagevenue.com images sets off Avast antivirus alarms...

Hi! I look at a lot of images for my job using imagevenue.com images. Earlier today, my version of Avast (4.7 Home Edition) started to display antivirus warnings every time I viewed an image hosted at imagevenue.com. Needless to say, this is annoying. Has anyone else got this problem?

I already modified the software to automatically delete any potential viruses (http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=141), but I’d like to know if something else is going on. I’ve never had this problem before.

Thank you!

Maybe false positives. Thanks for reporting. They usually correct false positives very quickly, I hope at least tomorrow this could be corrected.
Can you post the name of the virus caught by avast?
Welcome to forums.

Please tell us some link, where avast alerts. We will check link for false positives and will correct our detection routines.

Thank you.

If you haven’t already checked out this topic, there are a couple there, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=33943.0, also this topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=33946.0.

Do a manual VPS update as the latest 080318-0 VPS resolves the problem, no alert now on imagevenue.com.

Thanks Tech, jsejtko, and DavidR. I did a system restore on my WinXP PC to restore my settings to last Friday, but it looks like you guys addressed the problem. No problems with imagevenue.com images… so far. Thanks again! - Ken

No problem, welcome to the forums.

Using system restore to go back is often fraught with problems and shouldn’t be relied on. But you really didn’t need to do that, first you could have tried excluding the URL using the Web Shield, Customize, Exceptions and enter the domain url to exclude. Once you know the problem has been rectified, you can remove the exception.
