Immunet Protect - in the cloud malware protection now supports avast..

Hi malware fighters,

You av solution doesn’t detect “all them malware” (maybe 90%-95% of the present malware assortment, but not 100%, it never will); you do not want the remainder to go undetected.

By providing a fast and light layer of virus detection and linking everyone in a global community we harness a security sum that is far greater than its individual parts, we call this Collective Immunity.

Community Based Protection
Cloud Computing
Collective Intelligence

Immunet Protect gathers strength daily as the Immunet Community grows and best of all its FREE. Already have AntiVirus? Even better, install Immunet Protect alongside your existing product, and it will make the Immunet community even stronger,

This does not mean that you should not also use layered protection, in-browser protection and update and fully patch your Operational System and third party software (use Secunia PSI), use your machine with less rights when not downloading updates and when you absolutely cannot do without full admin rights,

Anyway I am glad Immunet Protect is now supporting avast, look at my active window pic,

Who else has Immunet Protect “in the cloud-av layer” in combination with avast?

I just downloaded, installed it, and ran the first scan which took 1 minute & 18 seconds.
There are 18, 216 users when it installed.

I will see how it goes with a dial-up connection.

It reports Microsoft Security Essentials but does not know about avast! V5 yet.

I installed Immunet Protect on my XP sp3 desktop & on my Vista sp2 64bit laptop.

So far, all is good. 8)

Hi YoKenny,

Maybe you haven’t installed the latest version. Only that plays ball with avast,

This software looks very much like Threatfire so the real question is which software preform better Immunet Protect or Threatfire ??? ???

I’ve already had the latest version of Threatfire on my PC and I’m not sure about Immunet Protect.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Threatfire…whatever it looks like.

It used to be call Cyberhawk the behavior-based anti-malware software Cyberhawk has been renamed and released as PC Tools ThreatFire.

ThreatFire features innovative real-time behavioral technology that provides powerful protection against both known and unknown viruses, worms, trojans and malware.

Thankfully, I can not tell that Immunet is running on dial-up but it is and there are no bad files listed, of course.

That FAQ is probably out of date.

On the UI of Immunet it says … avast! antivirus is also running.

The FAQ is out of date but avast! V5 beta is not recognized and I am not about to email their support to ask for V5 inclusion until it is officially released.

I’ll try it on my XP Pro system shortly.

Yeah, I suppose that would be true of V5 since it is still a beta and not yet officially released.

It doed not recognise avast! Professional running on my XP Pro system and reports only Microsoft Security Essentials.

I’m using 64bit version of Immunet Protect on my Vista 64bit laptop.

I downloaded Immunet Protect with Opera & run scans with Immunet Protect with Opera.
