I am running avast 4.5 family version french version
I have window 98 SE
I got a virus : Win32:SOBER-H (Wm)
in this file
C:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst\Dossiers personnels\partie supérieure des dossiers personnels\Boite de reception\Mail_delivery_failure<3787>\mail.com
impossible to delete it, I re scan and restart many time but this virus is allways detected
Take care you could be movig the whole MS Outlook.pst file (\Dossiers personnels\partie supérieure des dossiers personnels\Boite de reception), not just the infected email.
If you can identify the infected email within the outlook email folder then you could manually delete the email and clear the deleted emails folder.
I’m not an Outlook user (MS OE), but I’m assuming that the email ends up in your inbox or another mailbox dependant on your email filter/rules. You would have to check the inbox for email received about the same time you got the warning and later, this part of your path may give you a clue to the emails subject and possible attachment.
As in the \Dossiers personnels\partie supérieure des dossiers personnels\Boite de reception\ email folder with a email subject of ‘Mail_delivery_failure<3787>’ and an attachment of ‘mail.com’
Once you access the email or open it avast will warn again, that is the email to delete. I’m afraid that there is no quick way to do this as it would appear that this virus was already in the outlook mailbox and was found on a scan, rather than on receipt of the email ?
If you are able to find it, yes, put it in the garbage, then clear the contents of garbage. The virus (infected attachment) should be gone and provided you didn’t open the attachment, you should be ok.
