Impossible to register the free version of Avast!

Gentlefolks:

My reregistration of the Avast free version has proven to be impossible. It could never be done from within the program because of the message that I invariably receive when trying to do anything from within the program: “The online content is unavailable”.

I have tried at least a dozen times to use the web form, using four email addresses. I get this page:

“Your registration was successful.
Your free license key is sent by email within 30 minutes after this registration.”

However, it does not result in the promised email within a half-hour.

That being the case, it is no longer useful to have Avast on this old box. I shall thus wait till the registration expires and uninstall the program. I do like Avast, but if it is unusable, it’s just occupying drive space to no good end.

Thanks for the reply. That doesn’t work, but I have a refurbed Dell box with Windows 7 coming tomorrow, to rePlace this aging beast. I’ll try Avast on it.
