Hello people. First post here, although I’ve been reading this forum since last summer when I installed Avast. Now 5 of my family members use it and love it too.
Was giving a thumbs up for Avast in an A/V poll over at the Landzdown forum, and it was pointed out that AVG/Grisoft comes out of the Czech Republic too.
Was wondering about this pocket of impressive programming coming out of the Czech Republic. (I’m born in US, but full czech ancestry)
At the Avast website, I clicked on “About,” but not much info was given on background or history.
Went to the czech Avast forum, but my cesky not too good.
Didn’t know where to post this kind of question in the forum, but just so curious about how Avast came to be. Any links out there that would give some info?
This would be a low priority post/question…the kind that’s answered when it’s slow at the forum (and when would that be I can hear you saying) and the experts here aren’t responding to questions related to puter security.
If you check the copyright (e.g. in the About box), you’ll find out that avast! has been around since 1988 even.
I’m afraid I don’t know much details about that time though… that’s a topic for Pavel.
And Igor, at that same area (About) I see the list of Alwil staff. Somewhere on that list is a person(s) akin to Bill Gates, Steven Jobs, who developed Avast maybe?
