The setting was moved to block and here is the performance watch until end:

All is well, except the fact that avast! is completely useless when set to Block. Don’t ev en think of installing any program while in Block mode because it will just mess the installation. On Auto-Decide, it does nearly nothing. It’s not exactly an “Auto Decide” when it decides to allow everything anyway…
No it doesnt block legit stuff…i am sure cozz i have been keeping it on block from a couple of days.
I have even done scans with MBAM…made bluetooth transfers everything works well even on block…installed youcam too ;D
Well, i’m just conducting a test and Block is certainly NOT a recommended option for casual users. You’re saying it’s not blocking legit apps but that’s just not true. Here are my findings (just Behavior Shield installed, set to Block):
7zip - nothing was blocked
Alcohol 52% - yellow warning appeared for something
BurnAware - nothing was blocked
iTunes 10.6 - nothing was blocked
LibreOffice 3.5 - nothing was blocked
Java - nothing was blocked
MPC HC - nothing was blocked
ZoneAlarm Firewall Free - yellow warning appeared for something
Valve Steam - yellow warning appeared for something
EA Origin client - yellow warning appeared for something
Raxco PerfectDisk Free 1.0 - yellow warning appeared for something
FoxIt PDF Reader - nothing was blocked
SRS Audio Essentials - nothing was blocked (but something was blocked on system restart and SRS Audio was mentioned in it)
I could test some more but i think the statistics speak for themself. I’ve mostly used very common programs, stuff that most of users would have installed on their system. And avast! would just block stuff, making programs behave unexpectedly or making them broken.
So, the verdict is, BLOCK setting as default is NOT recommended. If you must, use Ask instead. It will cause less damage if you know what you’re installing is probably clean, than just leaving it block everything.
i will keep it on block…since i dont do a lot of installing so i will keep that on block…
ALso Behavor Shield doesn’t seem to be too effective against ransomware stuff that prevents you from viewing desktop. Yes, Block must be used here but even though it popups the warning that it blocked soemthing, the thing still covers avast!. That was when i was testing v6. I wonder if they improved it for v7…
nope doesn’t block legit stuff unless when you are updating iobit blocked one thing only… and still not corrupted
