Improve Avast! Free proxy interaction

Hello, I love avast, but we have a proxy in the office, I am the Network Admin, I’ve already placed the proxy adress and port into avast update component, but it just doesnt want to connect, and I cant even open the store or register the free version.

I hate avg but it works flawlesly with the proxy we have, we use Squid3 on Ubuntu 12.04

You’re the network admin in an office environment and you’re relying on a free AV solution? You might want to think about a Small Business/Enterprise grade solution for an office honestly.

A admin should be able to read.

  • The license for the free edition states clearly you are not allowed to use it in a business/commercial environment.
  • You are posting this in the “avast! Free/Pro/Suite” section, while you should have posted in the Linux section.
  • It doesn’t make any sense at all to use a proxy server within a office.
