hello, obbviously you can see i have created this account specifically for this.

What is the process names of all Avast programs.

you do not need to define them, i will do that myself.

if you must know… im making a program that needs to ignore the processes of Avast to ensure maximum security during the use of the program.

these are the processes i have so far.
ashdisp - process belonging to Avast Internet security suite. This utility forms an important part of your computers protection against Internet-bound viruses and worms.
avast01.setup - antivirus Update belonging to avast.
aswupdsv - The process manages the automatic updates and should not be removed to ensure that your Avast Anti-Virus software is up to date.

If you would be so kind and open your task manager to tell me what shows up on yours it would be appreciated.

ashdisp is the old avast version 4.8 icon on system tray.
Which is your avast version? The latest is 6.0.1203

I do not use Avast, it doesn’t suite me. I my own anti-virus database.
However, the users of my program may use Avast and i do not want the program to tamper with avast. thanks anymore you can think of would be nice :).

Nowadays processes:
AvastSvc.exe (service)
avastUI.exe (interface/icon/more…)
afwServ.exe (firewall)

Also: avast.setup (which does the updates), only created prior to the update…

THANK YOU!
i think that was just what i needed :).
if you must know… im making a program that speeds up and enhances your pc for games (like Game Booster, but better and less B.S)

 when its done i shall give you a free serial key

~thanks Tech

Hi rgrant1993, you compare your program with Game Booster which shuts down unnecessary Windows processes for gaming.

Game Booster is an easy-to-use program that shuts down unnecessary system processes in order to improve the performance of resource-thirsty games. With an intuitive interface that makes it easy to switch between gaming mode and normal mode, Game Booster is a simple but powerful program.

Firstly: Avast processes are not unnecessary.
Secondly: I doubt your program will get past Avast’s defenses.
Thirdly, I believe the latest version of Avast already has a gaming mode which stops popups/updating.

Yes it is in the avastUI, Settings, Silent/Gaming mode.

Thank you for the confirmation, DavidR.

I can see only one advantage to excluding Avast’s processes: Marketing, to say that the program is compatible with Avast.
