Polonus,
I noticed that NAV only goes up to 2002 and this page hasn’t been updated since
March 2003. There is a significant gap between this website’s information and what’s installed on most users computers.

Thanks Polunus. Very useful as a lot of users are changing to avast! 8)
Although what Bob posted is correct. NAV 2002 and specially NAV 2003 are the problems. Since NAV 2004 a lot of issues were solved.
Kaspersky has a bad ‘uninstall’ feature too, lefting a lot of trash behind.

Hi,

You are right, here is a more general approach of the problem.

It is more elegant too. But the fact must be stressed that for good results all existing files of the product on the system must be removed. So there is always some manual aftermath to the normal routine (e.g. taking maps out, etc.).

Too general… it won’t solve the problems as you’ve right after:

Fortunatelly, the best place to find info about antivirus uninstall is here, in avast! forums 8)

And for those who have Norton AV installed, the following website has all the information to remove it:

How To Completely Remove Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, BitDefender & avast!:

Hi Bob, Tech, Spyros,

This is an important thread, folks, because a lot of people switching over to Avast really need this information. Good work from all of my friends here. Chapeau!. Is there a sticky here for this topic???
If new information comes in that is important for de-installers to know, we can post it here in the future. Can one of the moderators do this for us? Good uninstalling is according to me kind of an art, but lively important considering eventual undesired conflicts in software, and that not only for AV products.
