In Program Pop-Ups

Hi,

I just got avast! (after being frauded by Bitdefender… unethical billing practices, horrible program, terrible customer service).

Anyway, I am very happy with avast! but I have a question - avast! itself seems to pop-up every 15 minutes or so (maybe slightly exaggerating).

Popup bragging that it updated, popup insisting I install the Chrome extension, popup telling me I have an update available, or whatever.

I have disabled popups in the settings and have also changed the Duration in seconds to ZERO.

Is there anything else I should do? I like the program before but have never seen an application self-advertise in my life. I mean - I already have the program, so why spoon feed me more ads? It’s unattractive. I just want them to go away and have this run in the background as opposed to in your face, like an antivirus should.

Any advice would be appreciated.

As far as “upgrading” - I wouldn’t give money to have popups thrown in my face - so if this can be resolved in the Free version I would most certainly consider contributing to the company and upgrading.

No one knows how to get them to stop? I got another one just now, suggesting me to upgrade. I’ve already registered… good for 363 more days… how do I make the in-program pop-ups go away?? It’s so stupid… Please help! Is there something I am overlooking?
