Good time of the day.
Why can’t avast! block incoming calls on LG’s 2.3+ devices, while Call Blocker app can do that? Just tried the app and it works. Will it be possible to make AMS’s blocker work for incoming calls? I’m running Android 4.0.4 on LG Optimus One.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
are you running a custom ROM?
Filip
Hi, Filip!
Yes, i’m running Unofficial CyanogenMod(since my device isn’t supported officially). But in fact it’s pure CyanogenMod with just a little changes.
Thanks,
Dmitry.
Hi,
that’s what I thought. The information provided applies for official LG ROMs and as far as I know, is correct. It is true that the incoming call blocking works on your LG device since it is a ROM thing, not a limitation of LG hardware itself. I might try to take a look at it, but I don’t have much time at the moment so don’t know when that will be, sorry For a workaround, you might go to /system/build.prop and change string ro.product.model, ro.product.brand, ro.product.name and ro.product.device to not contain the “LG” string. That’s how device gets identified to all apps on the device (including Google Play) so we won’t be able to detect it’s an LG after you reboot. Note that this might break some other apps (they might have some LG optimizations) and Google Play apps listing and download may change.

OK,i’ve understood you. Am i right that only CM ROMs have ro.cm.version string in build.prop? If so, you will be able to detect CM ROM and enable the call blocking feature, won’t you?
Not really because as far as I know you can’t read build.prop without root permissions and we don’t have a concept of rooted features (apart from firewall which is kinda separate) in AMS right now
Filip
Thanks anyway, Filip, maybe you will be able to do something about it in the future
Would love to actually
Filip
