It is looking to me like W10 is incompatible with Avast. Is there a fix in the works?

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Generally a reboot or two will cure this before you need to repair

A repair is preferred, as it also updates him to the latest Avast version (if needed).
