incorrect alarm on http://forum.xda-developers.com?

Hi all,

I was about to download a program to root my cellphone from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
the program is called z4root. Afaik it’s not a virus, but a program that is supposed to act in a way that I understand may look like a virus to avast.
Now I have two question:

  1. I this the “correct” version of the program and therefore ok, or is it really a virus?
  2. If it’s ok, how can I get it past avast?
