i have INIST my avast in windows xp and i didnt have any problem with that
but my problem is win i upgrade xp to vista … vista have block it and gave me the the reason for that action the problem is msvcr71.dll cant be found
i tried to update my avast or UNINST it but vista didnt let me to do that
if you say it is because windows fire wall … then i dont think so because i try that and i have the same problem
so please help

Just unzip the .dll file (by itself, not both files) to your system folder and restart your computer.

When upgrading the OS, I suggest an installation from the scratch:
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel first (if you can).
- Boot.
- Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
- Boot.
- Install again the latest avast! version.
- Boot.
- Check and post the results.
