Hello, since yesterday I’m trying to open a link and avast! keeps blocking it because “it’s infected”. I called the person who gave me the link and she tried it on her computer AND it was not infected. So I scanned my computer with Ccleaner and then with Malwarebytes Anti-malware. They did find 13 infected files (all identical) which they deleted, but none of them was the one in question. So now that’s clean, I tried it again…and again avast! blocked it as infected!!!
May I know why and how I can open that blessed file please? Thanks ever so much! Adela
No one can tell you why as you haven’t given any specific information:
the link of the detection, change http to hXXp so the link isn’t active. EDIT: corrected BBCode to display bold text.
the malware name ?
how do you know it isn’t infected ?
If this is the web shield detecting this (which you don’t say), then it should/is preventing it from being downloaded. So not unusual for nothing related to the alert being found on the system.
What were the file names, location/s and malware name/s of what was found by MBAM ?
Oops David, didn’t mean to use the “shock” icon instead of the smilie. But I couldn’t find an “Edit” or “Delete” buttons to also rearrange a bit what I wrote… Are they here? Thanks.
I don’t understand David, I answered you in full and clicked on Post but I don’t see it now. So then the subsequent answer I sent you probably didn’t make sense. I must leave now but will answer you in full, again, when I return.
