It was detected on the network shield, and keeps showing up every few minutes, 3rd different address.
The issue started for no apparent reason yesterday with link to a random .dll file in its own folder Here: C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Pinnacle Systems\lavxeqty.dll"
The .dll file is on my startup as rundll32.exe “C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Pinnacle Systems\lavxeqty.dll”,InjectDll
I cannot delete it and moving it to ‘the virus chest’ on Avast! does nothing to help.
The address of one of the spam sites is ‘88.214.194.199’ as i’m writing this, the fourth time ‘http://46024.nirink.com/result/?affiliate’ pops up as being blocked from the process’ C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Pinnacle Systems\lavxeqty.dll
‘Avast! network shield has blocked a harmful site.’ is the pop up, ‘malicious url blocked’
Using metascan online to scan the file, showed 4 sites deteced a threat [GFI Scan engine, NANO antivirus scanner, Norman scan engine, Symantec scan engine.]
I can’t find anything about it on any virus encyclopedia’s but I have noticed that on the pop up, the url changes every now and again - it had the word ‘griffin’ in the pop up this time, but I remember seeing ‘Taurus’ the last time, I don’t know if that helps. [Latest pop up had something else too, next to affiliate]
Any help on what to do now will be appreciated, thanks.
