Infected or not infected?

I have the red infected wording on the widget on my Samusung G3.

I performed a scan, but it says all is fine! How do I remove this? Can I trust Avast! ?

Hi,

if you open up the app, what does it say on the dashboard in upper right corner? Malware found or secured or something else?

Then it’s weird that your widget says otherwise. Could you try to remove it and put it there again?

Tried that.

Also deleted the log and restarted the device too.

When I remove then re-add the widget I briefly see secured before it flicks to infected.

Settings file somewhere with an infected flag not being cleared?

It changes practically instantly, cant be scanning. What files does it read when it opens?

Hi,

You’re probably right and some flag is not getting cleared.

Can you try to perform full scan - apps AND external storage? That should clear the flags for good.

Also you have to scan all external storages, if you’ve changed it to some directory. Don’t just select STORAGE #1 by long pressing on it and tapping SELECT on the top, but tap Select on the bottom instead. You should see “all storages” on the Virus Scanner settings screen after that.
