ok so i got avast last night cuz it was best recomended from my download site and cuz norton antivirus couldnt even locate a file in my system32 folder that i thought was suspicious. it found
(4) Win32;Zlob-FC[Trj] in my system folder.
(1) Win32;Zlob-EP[Trj] in my Documents and Settings folder.
(2) Win32;Trojan-Gen {other}
one of these is in my System Volume Restore folders
the other is in my Progam Files under “Fun Web Installer”
(2) Win32;Adware-Gen{adw}
1 is in my program files under FunWebProducts Installer.exe
the other is in my System Volume Restore folders
Ok i used your Cleaner to scan my C: drive and it found 0 infected
Or with few words, the files are safe in the Chest, they won’t harm you if they are there, and if everything after few days is fine you can delete them from there
Schedule a boot time scanning with avast. Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning. Select for scanning archives. reboot your PC
After that you can enable your System Restore.
In addition to your avast! protection you can install [b]a-squared/b or Ewido (www.ewido.net) - both programs are very good in removing trojans and are FREE
BTW, did you removed Norton completely before installing avast! ?
sweet
no i didnt remove it completely just disabled it. i will remove it though.
Ok i got another question. In my task manager theres a process called
System Idle Process and its using up 98 of my cpu and eraticly jumping around my process list, this just started last night about 1:20 am while i was playin America’s Army. i found a file in my System folder called Stdole3 that says it was created at about 1:20 or so. and it says its unkown what its for.
Hmm…
What’s the extention of this file?
If the file is stdole3.tlb, then it seems that you are infected with ZlobDownloader.
Did you run a boot time scan with avast! ?
Did you tried scanning with Ewido or a-squared, like I said in my previews post?
Or try this: http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip (but first try with Ewido or A-squared)
As XMAS said, you might want to change your avatar for another, resize or use this one. We try to keep avatars around 100 X 100 for those who don’t have high resolution monitors.
You seems the guy that needs to install the Bluetack Blocklist manager (if you’re into P2P-ing it is a must to keep the leechers and malware at bay). Go here: http://www.bluetack.co.uk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=14
It beautifully works alongside many a firewall, but especially teams up with Protowall.
It was just a hunch, tell me if I was wrong, but first clear the spyware from your “puter”.
System idle is a normal windows process and will allways be high if nothing else is running. Just off to find a better description bit it is not harmfull
haha, your right. ok i did a full search with ewido, found 1 trojan, 6 zlob downloaders a crapload of adware. but it didnt find that stdole3.tlb file as a threat
btw i figure im done with p2p it is too much of a hassle. but just incase im not ill get the bluetack
Good to hear that you realize that p2p is being made an “risky” business for the masses. Well there are other ways, use i2p or use a safe client where you can have real privacy swapping content on a one to one secure basis.
But I think Big Media should come up with an alernative, not going on a witch hunt.
Comes a day that downloading streaming radio is considered piracy. The end-user is completely left out in the cold, has no rights whatsoever, only good to fill the slots with bucks. Unfriendly world we’re entering, they want to completely see through the man or the woman on the net. No privacy for you and total or bought liberty for “them”.
