How can you detect if your computer has been violated and infected with DNS Changer? http://www.dcwg.org/detect/
if green then not infected…if red then infected http://www.dns-ok.us/
Using openDNS makes sure it can’t happen.
not just OpenDNS even norton and other DNS prevent it ;D
Yes there are other DNS services, but Open DNS was first on the scene and I believe are still the best and fastest DNS option for the greatest majority of countries as they have a better geographical spread of servers.
@ true indian,
I don’t remember posting that ONLY using openDNS prevented the problem.
Currently (at a little before midnight US Eastern Time) it seems that the http://www.dns-ok.us is down (Denial of Service attack or simply way too much legit traffic?), but the Dutch site http://dns-ok.nl/ and the Belgian site, http://www.dns-ok.be will show a green checkmark if your system is okay, and the German site, http://www.dns-ok.de will tell you in German (and in English at the bottom of the page) what’s what (no obvious color coding on the German site though (at least for the good news)).
EDIT: As of 1:06 Eastern Time, the US site is up again.
