Infected with Win32:Sirefef-HO [Rtk]

Heya all,

I’m new to this forum and I have a little problem.

Have been getting messages from Avast:
Object: C:\Windows\System32\consrv.dll
Infection: Win32:Sirefef-HO [Rtk]
Action: Moved to chest
Process: C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe

I don’t think that its doing anything to my system, I’ve read some other posts on this and other forums, nothing has happened to my system what the other posters have described…
But it’s quite annoying

I have a 64bit Windows install.

Could anyone help me with this?

this same virus is killing me right now, nothing im doing is working.
signed up and bought avast specifically because i thought my kaspersky pure was being a pos
turns out my avast wont remove this either.
I am now following the steps of the first replier.

But a fresh install was past due, this was just a well needed kick in the ass to do a re-install after a couple of years
