Infection blocked every time I open Mail

I have Avast installed on my Macbook Pro but it keeps giving me an Infection blocked message every time I open the Mail app. Anybody got any advice how to stop the threat or remove it?

Delete the infected mail, that’s all what is needed to stop the popup.

Thanks for the reply. It seems the spam folder on my laptop’s email program was showing up empty yet when I logged into my email online there were a couple of spam messages. Deleting them has removed the Avast warning messages.
