Infection Java:Agent EC [Expl]

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a virus or what, that was found in scan today.

There were 8 found all with different letters at the end, EC, OB, OG, BM, DQ, & BW

Any ideas?

I have been having problems recently with my browser regularly freezing for about 1-2 sec about every 30 secs or so, don’t know if that’s anything to worry about also.

Regards Myles

Java:Agent EC [Expl]
the prefix means exploit

Microsoft warns of Java exploit rise

is your java updated to latest version ?

you can check for outdated software with secunia online scan
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/

or install the secunia program that should fix this automatic ( have not tested this )

Hi Pondus,

Yes it is up to date, it’s set to update every month & It’s currently Version 6 Update 26.

2 of the files found ended with [Trj] instead of Expl if that makes any difference.

I put the files in the chest, should I just leave them there now & not worry about it?

you can right click files in chest and scan again, if not detected you can restore if detected delete i let them stay in chest for 30 days before i delete....these are not systems file so does not realy matter what you do
