Maybe someone here will have some helpful advice. Avast support emailed back with a one sentence reply stating that they believed it has been blocked correctly. In plain English, I tried to explain that was not my problem.
Avast keeps blocking the site which I am redirected to after clicking links within eBay. It only seems to be happening within ebay.
I just asked them how I could get rid of it. Avast only blocks it and will not rid my sytem of the virus.
They wanted remote control access of my computer. Not going to happen. Then asked when was the last time I took it to the “compuetr guy”. I am my computer guy.
Virus Total found the URL link itself “clean” by 34 sites.
I am being redirected. I just have not uncoverd the issue yet. It is buried somwhere.
These people have recommended a Windows Certified whatever to work on my computer. I do all my computer work for friends and family. I will eventaully solve this problem also, but alas it will be without the support of Avast. I am just tired of the nonsupport I get from this company when I ask a question.
I simply asked what I could do to get rid of it and the reply I received was “It’s blocked correctly in our opinion - there is maybe hijacked some toolbar.” I use Chrome. I have no toolbars installed.
After I take my time to explain my problem in detail, I get this reply. Unacceptable. Fortunately, it wasn’t too long a reply or I might have a hard time transalting the broken English.
I just asked what steps I could take to get rid of it and my question is never answered.
I can’t believe I am the only one with this problem, but so far I have found nothing that will find the problem.
Thank you.
