When are we going to get the first info and pictures on Avast 5?
I am sooo looking forward to getting a nicer looking interface. Something that I hope will fit in more with Windows 7 
I also hope it will be faster at everything and use less system resources like “NOD32”

My guess, I would say you won’t see anything until around the beta release as until then things would be rather fluid and subject to change.
There is no firm date for release of version 5 or the beta, but you will find out on the forums first.
I wish the beta, not screenshots… I don’t think we will have that much impact on how it will look, I mean, they’ll make a new interface and I do not expect that everyone likes it, every suggestion will be accepted, etc.

Secretive, commercial in confidence is something you have to get used to in commerce, keeping your cards close to your chest until it is time to put your hand down.
Since these forums are open to the public, I doubt there would be any announcement as it couldn’t be kept to just forum members and Alwil software.
We should learn to be patient. The presenr version is just OK.

As I’m sure the Alwil team will know. AVG are pushing to get 8.5 up and out the door by mid-year and right at this minute, it’s not all “bright lights & sweet music”

Yes, there are, I landed in one when parachuting at Pope Valley parachute ranch in the late 70s. Makes for an interesting landing trying to land between the rows of vines, the last thing going through my mind was ‘I wonder what the wine is like.’
