Inquiry about a possible false positive

Hello everyone!

I recently submitted a report about a quarantined file which was identified by Avast as “PDF:MalwareX-gen[Phish]”. It has been a couple of days now and I have not heard from Avast yet. Is it possible to ask/inquire about the result of the report/submission from somewhere? The submission was done from a friends computer and the computer is using the free version of Avast.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

You won’t get a direct response but it should be analysed within 48 hours, if found to be false the detection will be removed from the database.

So you can try restoring it from the Avast Quarantine and see if it gets restored.
