Insert Note into Clean Message (Outgoing)

This can be set (or rather cleared, set is the default) at the workstation

But it resets - presumably from the Avast for Business Control Panel

But there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to set at this granularity through the control panel, leaving the only control to disable this to be disable outbound scanning

You are correct. We are working on adding more options that can be controlled through the portal., As well other features/options. But at this time there are defaults set on the backend and every time the client communicates it will reset to the defaults.

Bummer - couple of things here

  • it ignores the setting to disable outbound setting
  • and the user is unaware of the behaviour until notified by their recipient
  • and the email now has a foreign image inserted, which then triggers warnings in the email that Pictures in this message have been blocked for your safety.

This is a huge issue for me.

The inability to actually ‘control’ clients from the portal lead me to believe releasing this should have been delayed while this was implemented.

This is a big thing for me

Yes I have this issue. Using Avast for Business. If I turn off the option Insert note into clean message (outgoing), the software turns this back on again.
UPDATED— I’ve just found out that this option HAS to be set in the web console at https://business.avast.com/#network/policies
Settings template > Windows Workstation > Mail Shield > Behaviour
