I upgraded to 5 Professional. I got an e-mail with a new license key. The directions to to add new license say to double click the new file and it should automatically insert the new file. There is no options for me to double click the file. It’s as if there is no attachment in the e-mail. If I click on Subscription and Insert License File I get .avastlic but no file name appears. What do I do now. I have already e-mailed avast and got new license keys and each e-mail looks the same.
So, your email does not have the .avastlic file attached?
Maybe your ISPs security settings did not allow the attachement?

No. There is no file attached. I use AOL.
It looks like AOL “ate up” the attachement.
Can you check the security settings in AOL to see if there is anything that might cause this?
Maybe you can enter your AOL-Mailbox via Web-interface and Internet Explorer directly on AOL.com and see if the attachement is still somewhere to be found on the server (though I doubt that).
You don’t have any other email where you could have Avast send the license to, like maybe gmail?
I have an MSN address. Would that work? I never have had an issue with attachments and AOL before.
OK. I tried to have Avast resend the key to my MSN address and since that is not the e-mail they have on file it will not resend it to that address. Any other suggestions? I submitted a ticket to them yesterday for help and have had not response.

May I suggest that you add the avast email address to you contacts
and then have avast resend the license to you.
Problem is solved, she received a mail with the key.
Looks like alwil had really sent 2 times a mail without attachement. 
But now she’s got the license. Case is closed. ;D
