Hi, I have installed ‘Driver Genius’ and it needs to know where to find Avast so it can check if the new Driver Download has any viruses in it. Where do I target the prog to go to? Thanks, TJ
On a normal installation (ie, you didn’t change the default installation path), Avast would be installed here:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswServ.exe
I have the path, except for the last, aswServ.exe. What I need, is when I install Driver Genius, a window pops up and asks me to point to the path of the anti-virus program. I don’t know which one of these to point it to? They are all .exe progs. I can kind of figure some of them out, but… Here are the choices:
ashAvast - ashBug - ashChest - ashCnsnt - ashDisp - ashLogV - ashMaiSv - ashPopWz - ashQuick - ashServ - ashSimp2 - ashSimpl - ashSkPcc - ashSkPck - ashUpd - ashWebSv - aswChLic - aswRegSvr - aswRunDll - aswUpdSv - copyx64 - sched - VisthAux - VisthLic - VisthUpd
Thanks ahead of time,
TJ
All you need do is right click on the downloaded file and select the Scan selected area for viruses, etc. (you will see an avast icon).
If you want to scan files downloaded from a download manager then this is the correct file and path: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe
This assumes that you installed avast in the default location.
