I have tried installing Mobile Security on Galaxy Tab 10.1 by both 3G and WiFi. In both cases as soon as I try to start the application I get an error message that says:
“The application avast! MobileSecurity(process com.avast.android.mobilesecurity) has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try again”
I then press the Force close button.

although I think I know the issue (and will be fixed in the next update), do you think you could try to send me (or post here) the logcat from you device from the time the crash occurs? There are various applications on the market that can do this (CatLog for example).
