Install issues.

I have tried installing Mobile Security on Galaxy Tab 10.1 by both 3G and WiFi. In both cases as soon as I try to start the application I get an error message that says:

“The application avast! MobileSecurity(process com.avast.android.mobilesecurity) has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try again”

I then press the Force close button.

Android version 3.1

Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3 root@Dell126#1
Build Number : HMj37 P7500CEKI1

As far as I am aware this is a non rooted Tab.

although I think I know the issue (and will be fixed in the next update), do you think you could try to send me (or post here) the logcat from you device from the time the crash occurs? There are various applications on the market that can do this (CatLog for example).

to send a log follow this step-by-step guide:

  • go to Android Market
  • search for aLogcat
  • download and install the app
  • start aLogcat from the app menu → aLogcat will start gathering the log messages
  • now use the HOME button to go back to the phone interface (do NOT use the BACK key as this will CLOSE aLogcat, HOME just puts it to the back)
  • use avast! Mobile Security to simulate your issue
  • once the unwanted behaviour occured long-press the HOME key
  • select aLogcat app
  • press the MENU key
  • press SHARE
  • press E-Mail
  • send the log
  • close aLogcat (BACK key)
