Install to new Hard Drive?

Can I download and burn to a CD on my computer then take out the existing Hard Drive, install a new Hard Drive, install Avast before going online to the Internet? I want to have my new drive protected before I go online. Is there a way to copy my existing Avast to the new drive or is it stuck with this drive?

No, you can’t just copy your avast installation.
You can:

  1. Download the new (latest) avast setup file.
  2. Download the latest virus database file (VPS).
  3. If you don’t have, get the registration key of avast.
  4. Go off-line
  5. Install (1), boot, register your avast (3), run (2) and then go on-line.
