Hi ^^
I’m in trouble.
I wanted to start again a old pc with xp pro sp2 with a very old avast free antivirus.
As it was old, i did a full clean up install with avastclear
Donwload the executable and try to install it.
But i have a warning message : " Le point d’entrée de procédure GetLogicalProcesorInformation est introuvable dans la bibliotèque de liaisons dynamique KERNEL32.DLL
I don’t know what’s happen and how to solve it.
I also see that minimum was Xp sp3, but i can’t install the sp3 product.
So is there solution to install avast free on my old Xp pro sp2?
Thanks for your help.
Have a good evening too
Gerald

Well, all later versions of Avast require SP3 on XP systems.
Can’t remember the last version that works with XP SP2, sorry.
Hi ^^
Well, thanks for your answer.
So if a Senior Tk of avast can put a link with latest version working fine on SP2 it should be good.
I’m trying to install once again SP3 PACK but i don’t know if it’ll work.
Gerald.

Honestly, Avast won’t work very well with XP SP2 - and it won’t matter if it’s gonna be an old version or a newer one.
The thing is that XP SP2 can’t verify new (SHA2) server certificates - so some functionality (incl. security-related) where communication with our servers is needed will work only partially, or not at all.

Hi ^^
Thanks for the advice.
Will check what’s possible on my hold laptop.
It’s a P4 1.7 of 2003, bought for my sport exam
I check this old laptop to see if he was possible to boot and see the time to boot, and some soft can work or not.
For SP3 around of 60% of installation a file can’t be copied from the set up folder and the only solution is cancel what was done.
Maybe something was corrupted, but don’t know where, i only download from secure and famous site no bad one.
I have to update other soft, but i can’t it seem that new update request something from SP3.
So i guess that my old laptop is going to join the museum soon :o

If there is any data on it that you want to keep, make a backup of it.
Install Windows (and all updates) from scratch.

You would be a lot safer if it was in a museum.
