"Installation information" -- During Setup

I checked this using my Dell, which had already been giving me trouble, so I figured I could afford to use it for a test.

The deal is that if one DOES allow for the Google Chrome to be installed along with the custom “minimum” install that installation information shown DOES NOT state that Google anything is also being installed.

I would state that is not very fair!

IF somebody missed those very tiny check boxes down at the bottom at the beginning of the set up, which is very possible, a last chance to warn people would be in that installation information box and if you want to be sincere in stating there are no tricks involved in increasing the number of people downloading Chrome through an Avast product you would put the third party installation information in a different colour font when you are letting people know for the last time what is going to be installed.

Am I being unfair in my proposal?

No. Imo.

+1 Google pays avast for each Chrome install. Or am I wrong? ???

In defense of avast “you make a buck however you can”.

I still don’t like it.

It is best not to speculate on what the arrangement is - saves having to retract a comment when you find out your speculation was wrong and all you are doing is spreading rumours.
