installation of avast

When we first installed Avast, it was working fine for a few months. Since we had some problems, we uninstalled it and all the remnants have been removed by erasing the folders. Now when I try to install afresh, it shows the first setup screen and stops. After going thro your forum, I learnt that I have to use the removal tool. I had downloaded the tool and read the instructions. In the instructions, it is advised that the removal tool should be placed in the original folder and execute it.

Now that the folder is erased, I am at a loss as to where I should place the removal tool and execute it. Kindly advise me. The system is working without avast and I am concerned about it.

Hi…

I’ve never heard of this before. ???

I’ve never had a problem downloading to and executing the removal tool from the desktop.

God bless

Dear evangelist,

I have only reproduced the instructions of Avast. Please visit the link: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

It reads as under:

Sometimes it´s not possible to uninstall avast! the standard way - using the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel. In this case, you can use our uninstallation utility aswClear.

How to uninstall our software using aswClear.exe:

  1. Download aswClear5.exe (or aswClear.exe for older avast! 4.8) on to your desktop
  2. Start Windows in Safe Mode
  3. Open (execute) the uninstall utility
  4. If you installed avast! in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
  5. Click REMOVE
  6. Restart your computer

May I expect the evangelist to take me or lead me to GOD.

Hi there…

Jesus Christ is the way to God and no one else!!!

He is God the Son (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) who came down here from Heaven and became flesh (a man,) born of a woman who was a virgin who ultimately, after His Ministry was completed here on Earth, became our final Sacrifice, by His death on the Cross and Resurrection, for all our (the entire human race) sins so that confessing Him, asking forgiveness for your sins and asking Him to be your Lord and Savior, one may be “born again,” (please see John 3:5-6) receive the Holy Spirit and receive eternal life.

Next to my avatar, you may have noticed my reference to Scripture, Matthew 3:16 (NLT):

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Since the time Adam and Eve first sinned in the Garden of Eden, we are born sinners (sin is rebellion and disobedience to God) and have gone our own way (please see Romans 3:10-18 and 3:23.) Scripture tell us in Hebrews 9:22 (NLT,) “For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.” In the Old Testament days, during the time the First Covenant and the Law of Moses was in effect, the sacrificing of various animals was done in lieu of killing the person (for certain sins, others were punishable by death.) Our Lord Jesus, who by His death and Resurrection, brought into affect the Second Covenant, which we are saved by believing in Him and asking Him to come into our lives, asking forgiveness and repenting of sin and continuing to obey Him, for it’s His Blood that God sees when we are in Him and He looks upon us. The Book of Hebrews goes into this much more fully. Also, this site may be of additional help.

Along with Salvation, the Holy Spirit, who resides within us begins to transform our ways of thinking and living and helps us to live in a way that is pleasing to God. I have experienced this and am one of many living examples! Before I came to the Lord, I was full of anger and hatred and fantasized about war and killing people. In 1998, The Lord used a friend I had made, who was a believer, to show me about Him and His love, first by example and then after a period of a few years began to talk with me about the Lord, when I was more willing to hear about Him. Since coming to Him, I am now not only free from the sins and ways of life that kept me in emotional and spiritual chains, but I now have begun to learn how to see and love others the way the Lord sees and loves them. I am by no means perfect at this, not by a long shot but it is a lifelong process where the Lord slowly moulds one into His image. And whatever trials and struggles I go through, He is always right beside me helping me and leading the way. I am never alone like I used to feel.

I invite you to see for yourself. If you able (in your country,) get a copy of the Bible and begin by reading the Book of John, often called God’s love letter to us. Or you can read the Bible at this site here. Please feel free to click on the first link listed in my signature (at bottom) or this site here.

I also invite you to ask God, in prayer, to reveal Himself to you. Ask Him to show you what I and, perhaps, others who are Christians, have told you.

However, those who choose to deny Jesus and die in their sins and remain unforgiven will end up here. Please be assured hell is very real and exactly what you read (at the site just given.) I have read this and another revelation given by the Lord to Mary Kay Baxter, who was also taken to hell and shown what takes place there. In both accounts, the Lord wanted to show that hell is very real and that many people, including some believers, don’t believe it exists. I can attest to the accuracy of the accounts because one day, when the same friend I mentioned above and myself were being read a chapter in Mary’s book “A Divine Revelation of Hell,” I felt the Holy Spirit’s PROFOUND grief and sadness (at the reality of what was being described) and it’s something I will never forget!

If you choose to come to the Lord and ask Him into your life, please, immedietely repent (turn away from and go in the Lord’s direction) from sin and from what you know as wrong, get into a good Church that preaches the Gospel and find a mentor who will help disciple you and be Baptized by full water immersion. This is extremely important.

I pray that the above will be of great help to you.

As to to your other question, If you download the uninstall utility as stated in your last post, will it not execute? I’m not sure what you are seeing when you try to use the tool. ???

May God bless you

You should just be able to download and run ‘aswclear’. Just download to your desktop or favourite place.

It needs to clear the folders (which you have done manually) and also some registry settings.

I haven’t used it myself, so I don’t know exactly what it asks or tries to do.

regards, Gizbar.

Hi

You just seem to have got a bit confused over the box asking for the Folder Path … I Got Confused Too! :-[

If you just installed Avast the normal way to begin with…

1. Download aswClear5.exe - or - aswClear.exe for older avast! 4 on to your desktop ( Vista Downloads Folder Is Fine Too! )
2. Start Windows in Safe Mode
3. Open (execute) the uninstall utility
5. Click REMOVE
6. Restart your computer

You don’t need to worry about the box asking for the - Path … Don’t Touch It!
Just Click The Remove Button
The path box is just for people that didn’t install Avast to the default place

Hope This Helps!
