Installation of earlier (2015 or 2016) versions.

Please could sombody give me some advice.

I have been having problems recently with updating Avast2015 Free. Attempting to remove Avast 2015 using avastclear.exe only resulted in message “…has encountered a problem and needs to close”. The system Avast 2015 Free is (/was) running on XP (on a multiboot system) which incidently doesn’t have SSE-2. Up until recently I had been very happy with Avast. I have managed eventually to remove Avast 2015 Free which was only on the XP System.

Two points arise, firstly, would any of the later Avast versions (11… or 12…) work on a non-SSE-2 system running under XP. Secondly, is there any way of downloading Avast 2015 or later and installing it?

I hope someone can help, even if only to advise about AVG.

Thanks for confirming that I can’t install Avast 2016.

I’ll have to try to get Avast 2015 for installation. Any Ideas as to where it can be obtained from?

Many thanks, following the details on the link, I reinstalled Avast 2015. It runs OK and as a bonus it seems to have cured another problem I’d had of the I-O freezing keyboard and mouse.

Another satisfied customer.
