I’ve had my mini notebook for 59 days and the trial of (that other one) is ending tomorrow so I bought, downloaded, and installed Avast! for my compy. I started a scan and had to shut the compy because the library was closing. I got it to come back up but it stated it hadn’t shut down right and I attempted to restart and it wouldn’t even come up. I tried several times until I got a screen that came up asking about going back to a previous set point. I still have Avast! on my compy but I can’t get in to get it to start again.
Try to go to safe mode
While booting try to press F8
Then select boot in safe mode
Then go to control Panel add/remove programs
Change/remove avast
Choose uninstall
Then reboot
It should be able to start properly 
I was hoping to use Avast! in place of (the ‘N’ word’s security system). It was pre-installed and I have since found out that it was specifically for notebooks so I can’t use what I want…
