I downloaded the latest avast today (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) and when I ran the installer (avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe) it crashed halfway through the installation phase. I thought no problem I’ll just run it again, but when I try to run it again the installer never continues on from the initial window (showing the animation) and so I can’t install avast. Install is being done on a clean machine.
Here is what it shows:

I let it run for 2 hours and finally killed the process.
I even tried deleting avast.setup in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp_av_sfx.tm~ad188b5b-2fee-429d-8499-3ed6533c4501
And ran the installer again, but that didn’t make any difference.
I’ve run the installer several times now and it does the same irritating thing every time.
