I have a virus which so far avast does not seem to have been able to detect. It seems to be some kind of installer.
Each time I reboot my computer it installs thousands of “.rar” files with the names of applications.
Anybody know what this virus is called and how I can remove it?

Sumbit one of the files to an online virus scanner such as http://virusscan.jotti.org/.
This will tell you what the virus is.
Then google the result and see what you can find out about how to remove it.
Also, it will be good to send a sample of the virus to virurs@avast.com for analysis and virus database update.
