I suggest you download the Internet Security Installer rather than upgrading a free version. Download it here

I just pay for 1 tonight. I have the license key and when i do that it says to restart my pc. And thats when i have to restore it. Saying windows has recovered from a problem.

Have you tried installing using the IS installer (not the Free version installer)?

No,is that the 1 on cnet. I have the free trail version for 30 days . And tonight i bought avast internet security. In the emails i got i downloaded the stuff but comes up you are trying to download a old version of what you have. Am just really lost here :-\

So you mean you inserted your license key on a Free version of avast? I’m having the same problems when upgrading a Free edition to an Internet Security.

It would be better if you install Internet Security directly. Link to avast! IS here

::slight_smile: your free trial is pro? ::slight_smile:

double function-creating another folder with the same function make your system confused

did you try disable anything including defense module and disconnect to internet before upgrading to IAS?

if you did not disable anything before upgrading, all avast function will be doubled and creating overdamping

Try fist cold boot for 3min

if not effected then uninstalled and install fresh IAS

Regards!!

I did what you said to do. Now everthing thing is gone? Not able to find my key either even in my email. Not able to locate it? It says to find a file to open it. Idk if i was pro so am i out 32 bucks now?

Now, as he mentioned, uninstall your current avast then download and install the Internet Security installer. Link to avast! IS here.

I click on step two to get my key and adobe cannot locate it saying it mayhave been damage?

Huh? Why Adobe?

Add: Are you getting a new license key? You don’t have to, just use the .avastlic file given to you yesterday when you bought Internet Security.

I need adobe to open it. And the avast icon was there. Then i uninstall everthing. Installed avast again. Looked for the key and the icon changed to a adobe icon on the file. Put that in restart my pc logged back in and it said welcome to Avast and is asking me to select the appropirate firewall mode for the new network. There is home, work, public which 1 ? Also my action center is saying my avast is out of date its 5.0.462

Seems like its working better now.

Select Home. Now, for the license, double click the orange ball. Then click Maintenance > Registration. From the right side, click Insert avast! PRO antivirus / Internet Security License File. Locate and select the license file then click Open. You’ll receive a confirmation message if it works.

Also my action center is saying my avast is out of date its 5.0.462

Don’t worry avast will update itself.

Were is the orange ball i click?

On the lower right side of the screen. The one that rotates.

Dont see it on here.

Then, try double clicking avast! Internet Security icon from your desktop

Dont see Maintenance > Registration maybe i dont have pro? In the Maintenance it shows update subscription virus chest and abot avast thats it no Registration .

Just look around the left side of avast!'s screen. It would be something like the image below. (Click it to enlarge)

Click Maintenance then click Registration

Were it shows Registration on yours it shows Subscription on mine. And for Subscription information it says insert license file. I know am being a pain not trying to be sorry.
